Journey for KiKa
I started this journey at the end of 2011, my goal was to train and run – my first – marathon in 2012 and to raise funds for KiKa. In 2012 the marathon was cancelled because of the aftermath of hurricane Sandy. I had raised € 15.055,- EUR. I decided to continue my training and fund raising efforts and run the New York marathon a year later.
At the moment, 25% of the children diagnosed with cancer do not survive.
KiKa’s goal is to reduce that to 5% in 2025.
In order to achieve this goal, heavy investment in pediatric research is needed.
I would like to thank to all of you who have donated and supported / encouraged me face-to-face, via e-mails, tweets, App’s, text’s messages, shout-out during training. A special thanks to my wife & daughters, my family and all the friends who supported me to achieve my goal! Could not have done without you! THANKS!
